I was born and raised in the Mississippi Delta. My Grandfather, William Yandell, was an incredible artist. When I was a child we drew, painted, decoupaged, drank coffee, and played gin rummy together. My great-great-great-great aunt was Enid Yandell, born in 1870. She was a pioneer in the male dominated field of sculpture. She created huge works that can be viewed on the internet. I grew up with pictures of her art influencing me (see Links page). I moved to Texas when I was 19, and met Dan at 24. I knew on the first hour of our first date, I was home. We have been painting together ever since. |
